Social Ride 09/01/21 - Gravel/Adventure Ride
Updated: Jan 20, 2021

With how much rain we have had lately we though it best to kick of this year with a gravel/adventure ride. (weather permitting)
We will be leaving from the Wynter Tavern at 3pm this week and will end the ride back there with a nice cold drink.
This ride will be around 35-40km and have around 500m of climbing. Be a mix of sealed, gravel and 4WD tracks. Plus have a couple of steeper hills and most likely some mud! The ride will be suitable for anyone who has a bit of fitness, doesn't mind a bit of climbing and a bike that can ride gravel roads/4wd tracks.
No map this week so it will be a bit of a surprise for you all...
Meeting Point: Wynter Tavern
Date: Saturday 09/01/21
Time: Rolling out at 3pm sharp
Difficulty: 35-40km with around 500m climbing. Looking to do around a 15-20km average speed.
What is a mixed terrain/gravel ride? Just like it sounds it is a ride on gravel roads!
This ride is for you if you have a bit of fitness behind you and bike that is suitable for gravel roads. During one of these rides you may encounter a variety of surfaces from asphalt to rough gravel roads and even the odd bit of single track, as well as a little bit of climbing.
Still an easy social pace with plenty of chance to rest and regroup.
Ride time of around 2-3 hours
You will need a bike in good working order, a helmet, enclosed footwear, gloves and plenty of water. Also bring along things you may need to keep you going. For example spare tube, tools, pump, etc.
See you on the trails...
