Bourkes Bicycles shop social rides are back!!
With the latest easing of restrictions and now being able to have up to 20 people gathered outside we feel it is time to get our shop rides up and running again, while abiding by all social distancing requirements of course...
So to start things off again we will be heading out to the Kiwarrak MTB Park for a novice level MTB ride. See the bottom of the post to see if a novice ride is for you.
Please be aware that the Kiwarrak State Forest, which the MTB park is part of, is still closed to the public following the fires last year. Forestry have given permission for MTBA and Manning Great Lakes Tip Riders (MGLTR) club members to ride within the MTB park though.
So if you are coming along to our ride and are not already a MTBA or MGLTR club member you will need to sign up first or wont be able to participate. There are a variety of levels of membership that you can sign up for, including a FREE trial, so follow this link to join!
Meeting Point: Main MTB carpark off the Buckets Way - See here.
Date: Saturday 27/6/20
Time: Rolling out at 2:30pm sharp
Difficulty: NOVICE Level with about 10-15km riding.
What is a novice MTB ride?
Novice - Once you have a bit of fitness behind you and the basics dialed then an novice ride is for you.
During one of these rides you may encounter more technical and challenging tracks (always with B line though) as well as a bit more climbing.
Easy social pace with plenty of chance to rest and regroup.
Ride time of around 1.5 hours.
You will need a bike in good working order, a helmet, enclosed footwear, gloves and plenty of water. Also bring along things you may need to keep you going. For example spare tube, tools, pump, etc.
See you on the trails...
